CNN has been using “iReports” for a while – submitted by everyday folks and used on the CNN iReport website as well as occasionally on the CNN television in the form of a 1/2 hour or 1 hour iReport-specific show.  While reading a front-page news story on CNN’s website today, i noticed that the story had a direct link (see the screenshot below) to a related iReport story, created by an everday guy named David, who has also created other iReports for CNN.

It is a very interesting model when we consider that just a few years ago news organizations chided amateur journalism as sub-standard.
